"To find someone who knows the collection. Don’t ever go with a girlfriend! Leave her in the car park. Because she’s only shopping for herself and her boyfriend — not for you. The last person she’s thinking of is you. It’s the same thing with boyfriends. Don’t go shopping with boyfriends. They’re only thinking of themselves, too. Place your trust in the manager, the guy who knows the brand, who will tell you the story about the finish or these little loops and blah, blah, blah, blah. And choose somewhere where the light’s not too bright. And enjoy it. Enjoy!" - John Galliano

João ”Magic” Blümel. This kid sits down next to me at Tribeca Grand and tells me he can read my mind. Riiggghhhtttt…. Turns out he’s actually a professional entertainer, check out his act. We meet in Soho, happen to use Jezebel & Toff as a background and the lovely Alice pops out to let us borrow a few (might I say extremely rad) jackets for wardrobe. Who doesn’t want a vintage army coat with custom embroidery? Then POOF! like magic, we were out.

"Many people I know are wearing masks. Not actual masks, but "virtual" masks depicting a person who is not who they really are. None of us are perfect, but we all have the capacity to be authentic. Let’s remove the pretense and the facade from our repertoire and just be ourselves…authentically me and you." ©Susan Korwin, 2011.
When I met Susan (and her husband Bob) I couldn’t help but notice how she lit up the room. I suppose it’s hard not to with an outrageous wardrobe and fiery red, waist length hair.
Susan is a lifestyle and fashion consultant, she radiates here. Her grace and compassion are inspiring not only to me but her many fans. This is one of her inspirational quotes and part of the reason I started this project.
